The VACC meets Sunday evenings from 6:30-7:30 at the Village Arts Center (former Bethany Church).

The choir is open to children currently in grades 2-6.

Cost is $100 per child for the spring session (a fall session will be offered beginning in September 2020). Scholarship applications are available upon request to help cover some of the cost. The amount distributed will be based upon the availability of scholarship funds each session.

We will have a concert on April 26th as part of the Heartland Civic Orchestra and Choir concert. Other events may be scheduled.

About the Choir

The choir is comprised of boys and girls in grades 2 through 6. Our focus will largely be on developing good vocal technique, rehearsal and performance skills and behaviors, and music reading ability. Repertoire for the choir includes unison and two-part music with a possible introduction to three-part music. The VACC will perform a concert with the Village Arts Community Orchestras and Choir in December and April. Other individual performances may be scheduled.

Our Vision

The vision of the Village Arts Children’s Choir is to build a fun and respected choral program that enriches the community and the surrounding areas by fostering a love of music.

Our Mission

The mission of the Village Arts Children’s Choir is to provide boys and girls in 2nd grade through 6th grade from Rugby and its surrounding communities an opportunity to rehearse and perform choral music with skill and understanding in a respectful and collaborative environment. VACC strives to enrich the lives of youth through performance experiences, community involvement, and continued musical excellence, while increasing self-esteem, self-confidence, leadership skills, and choral skills in VACC members.

The Village Arts Children’s Choir is committed to growth and sustainability as the area’s only community youth choir, fulfilling a need for extracurricular performing arts opportunities for elementary-aged students.

Our Goal

The goal of this ensemble is to foster a love for music and singing at a young age and build a community of trust, leadership, and musicianship among our ensemble, families, and audiences.
